So, I finally got my car fixed yesterday.  The problem was the battery and the prolonged carlessness was caused by my inability to get a bolt out.  It turned out that the ratchet wrench I was using to undo the bolts was not getting enough torque.  So I went out and bought a ratchet set that had a bigger wrench.  Ta Da!  Bigger really is better.  So I got my battery replaced and now have a working car that I will keep a close eye on in regards to the battery.  If the juice drains out of this one, I'm getting the alternator checked out.  Cause I have a lifetime warranty on that, so I'll be sure to replace it ASAP if its bad.  :D  I am a happy Patricia who can now drive.
Also...game tonight.  FUN.  I have some stuff to work on this morning, but that is ok since I have time before I go hang out with Jenn.  I SHOULD clean my room...but I don't wanna.

So...I bought gummy bears today...And a thought came to mind.  Gummy bear embryos...XD  Jello and Gummy bears...(better as shots...but...)  I'm making them.  They are amazing.
I also got my Christmas present from Callie, Mark, and Jenn today.  It's the dragon ring I've wanted for a while.  Its pretty.  Its also the last piece of jewelry I needed for Jade.  I guess that means she can die now.   But the funny thing is, the way the ring is designed, I can wear it over my engagement ring and it looks like the dragon is guarding its 'horde'.  Its amazing.

So...I realized today that there is one instance in which ignoring a problem makes it go away.  I got a friend request from a girl I was friends with in high school that I recently realized was not worth the trouble.  So I've blocked her from MSN and de-friended her on facebook.  The request she sent had an attached note of 'How come we're not friends all of a sudden."  I thought of the possible responses...like 'this happened a long time ago.  It isn't sudden' but then realized something.  Part of being an adult is realizing when its okay to just let people go and not feel like you have to justify your actions.  She has not been a good friend for a long time.  And now, I'm done with her.  If she can't figure out why, that's her problem.  I am just going to ignore her and move on.

So I'm going to Madama Butterfly at GBPAC today. Valeria is in it so she asked me if I wanted to go, since she gets a free ticket.  I'm really looking forward to it.  Its also a good 'research project' for those of you who know what I am talking about. :D

It took me five minutes to find my glasses because they'd fallen off my bed and were hidden by the comforter on the floor.  I hope I"m not forgetting anything.  My meds will get put in my purse in the morning, along with my aspirin and midol (Just in case anyone needs it).  My laptop and its acoutrements will get packed up either in the morning or later tonight.  Depends...My clothes are packed or hanging up in the hall along with Wades.  I just need to toss my jean jacket in the bag and make sure I remember my hat tomorrow.  Jewelry is packed.  Hygiene is packed.  My brain is exploding...AH!  I need my sewing kit for just in case.
I think that's everything.  I HOPE that's everything.  Also...stupid Harpy Log and Stupid computers.

So...for $50, I got about...$140 worth of stuff. :D  yay gift cards.  I managed to find some wicked sexy shoes for the Midwinter theme night, as well as a shirt for that night.  I also got a new purse XD (Is pretty green...so are my new gloves!)  and then I also got a new Batman t-shirt (mostly for me, but also Nora).  Hot Topic had a perfume that was on sale called Malicious.  Featuring the Evil Queen from Snow White and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.  It smells lovely.  I got a bunch of stuff at Bath and Body Works too, but spent $10 more than I wanted to because one of the cards was screwy.  So I get to call and find out why what was supposed to be a $10 gift card only had $1.85 on it.  I'm annoyed.
But this is okay.  I have neat things.  :D

So...I've been home with my family for almost two weeks now...I was ready to leave a week ago.  I love them...but damn do they drive me nuts.  I would have happily spent one week here just to get Christmas over with.  But I had to wait until this weekend to do my family's Christmas because my brother, his wife and their kids couldn't come down until now. So...we have a seven year old, a three and a half year old and a two and a half year old running around the house, making it messy and making me crazy.  So is my mother.  I don't like playing with Dylan because he has no attention span for ANYTHING.  Drives me batty.  But my mother INSISTS I do things with him.  Hi, I am an adult, he has a brother, he can freaking deal with it.  I NEVER harrassed any of my aunts and uncle to play with me at that age when I could play with my brothers and my cousins.  And when we were told not to run, we DIDN'T fucking RUN!  *SIGH*  I just have to keep reminding myself that I love them...and I will feel bad if I kill them.

In other news I got some nifty useful stuff and stuff for Chinese Brush Painting.  Its awesome.  My mom bought almost all of the stuff I need for it, except practice paper and a wider variety of brushes.  Oh, and felt, but...  I'm excited to try it out.

I can't wait to leave and see everyone and go to Midwinter.

EDIT: Also, I just found out that while Iowa allows parents to cover their children up to age 25 if in school, my Dad's company's Insurance company is out of state so they say they don't have to honor it.  Yay lack of insurance right after I went to the Doctor!  Bastards.

So, I was going to go be bored at the bar tonight so I could spend time with my sweetie on New Years.  Except yesterday I woke up with a severe sore throat, painful ears, and difficulty swallowing.  So I spent most of the day in bed, hoping to feel better.  No such luck.  I felt better this morning, but still was in pain.  So...to the doctor's I went (especially given that my glads were swollen and my tonsils had HUGE white spots on them.).  She didn't even bother to do a strep test.  Because of how swollen things were, and the way things looked, she was pretty sure I had strep  So she wrote me a prescription for amoxicillin.  Yay!  So I have three weeks of pills and am hanging out in Glenwood tonight.

EDIT:  So, I misread the instructions.  I have ten days worth of pills.

Well, I am in a much better mood now.  My family members are slightly less neurotic now.  I no longer hate Christmas.  Things have gotten patched up (no thanks to me, but still good).  I still need to buy presents for Robert, Hayley, Dylan, and Ethan and Wade still has to get something for Mom.  But hey, we have until the second.  I really don't want to go to Ames for New Years, but I promised Wade I'd go.  I'm going to be bored to tears because I will have to sit at the bar for about 5-6 hours with NOTHING to do.  I thought about dressing up, but I don't know if I'm going to do that.
I miss you guys.  I'm looking forward to getting to see you all again in a little over a week.  Have a good one.
